According to the Daily News, the New York Knicks are prepared to add former Hawks coach and HEAT assistant Mike Woodson as a defensive assistant on Mike D’Antoni’s staff. Of course with the current lockout, who knows if he will ever get the chance to work with D’Antoni, as he is in the final year of his contract when there may not even be a season.
As always, the Daily News is sure to remind Knick fans this hiring has more to do with Woodson’s relationship with Isiah Thomas than anything else. What else is new.
I personally would be a fan of the hiring, as Woodson sat on Miami’s bench all year long, and could probably bring some valuable insight from behind enemy lines. Plus I am not sure there was a better team at defensive rotations than the Miami HEAT (I guess LeBron and D-Wade help in this case).
Lastly, who can forget when he shaved off his eyebrows in Atlanta.
Hopefully we can get back on the court sooner than later.
