The Knicks struggles out West continued last night, as they dropped their second consecutive game to start their trip, and 9th straight against the Lakers. The offense was again stagnant, as the guards struggled to find their teammates in position to score. Melo actually had a very efficient game, scoring 27 points on 8-14 shooting, with 7 rebounds, 5 assists, while going 9-10 from the free throw line. Tyson Chandler played much better, recording his first double-double as a Knick, recording 13 points and 11 rebounds. STAT continues to struggle, as he is forcing the issue on the offensive end, finishing 4 of 17 from the field. He spoke so much about adding 20 pounds of muscle this offseason, I think it has actually hurt his form on that mid-range jumper that was lights out last season. It is also killing him not having a true point to get him the ball in position to score.
Things wrap up in Sacramento on Saturday night at 8pm. Hopefully we can take care of a young, but dangerous team (offensively), returning home to the Garden at .500 with the new year ahead. Make it 2012 already, and please let this team find its offensive groove.
